Cheese Gift Baskets

We live in a very nice neighborhood with lots of contacts between the neighbors. My husband and I exchange gifts with several of our neighbors each year, sometimes for the holidays and sometimes on other occasions. But each year it seems to get more difficult to think of a gift. This year we had a new idea and decided to give them cheese gift baskets. We did not like the pre-made cheese gift baskets that are available in the kiosks in the mall at all: that means that we had to create the baskets ourselves.

The pre-maid cheese gift baskets included processed cheese spreads. We were concerned about how long some of the baskets had been sitting around. We thought that if we made our own baskets the cheese would be of higher quality and we could choose varieties that we knew our friends liked.

We went to an import store and found wicker baskets to place the cheese in. The store had inexpensive cheese cutters so we purchased one to place in each of the cheese gift baskets. We then went to a local deli. This deli wraps the meat and cheeses in paper. We did not want this for the gift basket. We decided to go to the supermarket and purchase large rounds of four cheeses.

Breakfast in bed basket

This breakfast in bed gift basket contains a wonderful assortment of gourmet delights to start their day and a handy way to serve them.

Vanilla biscotti, Ghirardelli double chocolate hot cocoa, golden Ceylon tea, coffee, old-fashioned pancake mix, gourmet breakfast syrup, tea and scone mix and strawberry preserves are brimming from this lovely folding serving tray.

Beautiful mugs, matching magnets and a napkin complete this eye-opening collection. It's so good they will be asking for seconds.

Breakfast in bed basket reviews:

“My mother (living in Florida) was moved to tears by this gift basket. She sent me (living in Norway)a big photo of a VERY happy mum with lap full of goodies. Contents looks even better than on web-page. Speedy delivery, arrived day before Mother's day (which in Norway is in February). Thank you so much!” (more…)

Wine and cheese gift basket

This wine and cheese gift basket is a good gift for an anniversary celebration. Especially if the couple was getting away for the weekend. It could also be good for a holiday gift or to take to a dinner party.

I think that the choices of foods will be a great combination with both wines. Cheeses and almonds all sound wonderful, so do the cookies. I am not so sure about the olives. Perhaps they would go better with the pinot grigio along with the focaccia crisps. The cabernet sauvignon would be a great complement to the almonds and amaretto almond cookies. That is why it is a perfect complement to a dinner party, or special celebration.

I don’t think a birthday party, unless it is for your spouse! This has "romantic getaway" written all over it. It is perfect for a weekend away-the secret item tucked away in the suitcase. When we had our 12th anniversary a few years back, a very thoughtful coworker gave us a bucket of champagne, chocolate, a romantic movie, candles, etc. We really enjoyed it.
